Two students from GEM, Dyveke and Andrea, are currently studying business at Bentley University for a semester, an experience they both describe as “American, but with European aspects.” They are really enjoying their exchange in the United States, especially living on campus in Waltham, just a half an hour shuttle ride away from Boston.

Study Abroad : Justine Lhoste talks about her double degree programme at the Laval University, Canada
Laval University, situated in Quebec City, was quite a change for Justine Lhoste. As a GEM student, Justine is pursuing the double degree opportunity and wanted to experience a new culture, as she has already studied abroad in Ireland and Australia. From the start, she knew that she needed to be prepared to work a lot in her competitive Marketing MBA pursuit, and when she arrived in Canada, her expectations became reality.

An American View of Studying in France: Anuja Parikh, a student from University of Florida talks about her international exchange at Grenoble EM
Since my first year of high school, when I took my first French language class, I knew I had to study abroad in France. Having lived in Florida my whole life and only traveling within the United States, France seemed like a whole other world to me. Every year for the next five years, I told my parents that I was coming to France for college so they would get used to the idea. Choosing to come to Grenoble was as easy as decisions can get. My mentor at the University of Florida had come to Grenoble Ecole de Management to study a year before my arrival, and she had nothing but amazing things to say about the city and its people. Most students at my school chose more popular, tourist locations to study, especially Paris, but I knew that I would get a more balanced and true French environment in the city of Grenoble.

Photo of the week : Grenoble EM on the NASDAQ
I have a wonderful colleague, Lisa Jane Perraud, who works for the Careers Service at my school and has done great job over the past few years. However, this week even she has surpassed herself with this photo! She is currently in New York with 25 students from my school that are studying finance. Lisa Jane has been working extremely hard over the past 2 months to organize a marathon week of company visits (the students will have had 13 in a week!)

STUDY ABROAD / INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE : SOUTH KOREA, Seoul
Clemence Crampon, a graduate management student from Grenoble EM, talks about her experience at Sogang University.
Seoul is huge and never falls asleep, you will never get bored. You can enjoy a lot of activities (catbar, karaoke…), do shopping everywhere and have a lot of choice in term of nice bar and restaurants. The city is over-connected (not surprising in Samsung’s country!), trendy and dynamic.
Gems on Wall Street: Students studying finance in the heart of New York
I want to use this post to publicize a blog that is being written by some 25 students from my school, who are currently studying finance in New York. The students have gone up there for one semester to study a program that we jointly set up with Pace University to give them the ins and outs of finance in the USA, and also to show them some of the best practices of working in the United States.

STUDY ABROAD / INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE : Petr Jiskra gives a Czech view on life and study on a double degree programme in Grenoble.
My way to GEM was pretty straightforward. Since my first year at my home university, I knew that I want to do a double degree program abroad. When I reached the end of second year and was about to choose which school to go to, I paid good attention to the recommendations from professors and GEM´s past students. I did not regret it, GEM was a brilliant choice.

David Reyna, chemical engineer, international businessman, strategic planner and lover of spicy food: A Mexican view of studying in France
David Reyna was finishing his Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering at ITESM, Mexico, when he decided that he wanted to gain some experience abroad. He thought this would be good for his CV and that perhaps even one day he might set up an international company. He decided against going to the USA thinking that it was too close and that as a Mexican, he might get a broader perspective by studying in Europe.
