An American View of Studying in France: Anuja Parikh, a student from University of Florida talks about her international exchange at Grenoble EM
Since my first year of high school, when I took my first French language class, I knew I had to study abroad in France. Having lived in Florida my whole life and only traveling within the United States, France seemed like a whole other world to me. Every year for the next five years, I told my parents that I was coming to France for college so they would get used to the idea. Choosing to come to Grenoble was as easy as decisions can get. My mentor at the University of Florida had come to Grenoble Ecole de Management to study a year before my arrival, and she had nothing but amazing things to say about the city and its people. Most students at my school chose more popular, tourist locations to study, especially Paris, but I knew that I would get a more balanced and true French environment in the city of Grenoble.

STUDY ABROAD / INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE : Petr Jiskra gives a Czech view on life and study on a double degree programme in Grenoble.
My way to GEM was pretty straightforward. Since my first year at my home university, I knew that I want to do a double degree program abroad. When I reached the end of second year and was about to choose which school to go to, I paid good attention to the recommendations from professors and GEM´s past students. I did not regret it, GEM was a brilliant choice.

David Reyna, chemical engineer, international businessman, strategic planner and lover of spicy food: A Mexican view of studying in France
David Reyna was finishing his Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering at ITESM, Mexico, when he decided that he wanted to gain some experience abroad. He thought this would be good for his CV and that perhaps even one day he might set up an international company. He decided against going to the USA thinking that it was too close and that as a Mexican, he might get a broader perspective by studying in Europe.

Bénédicte Chamaillard, a graduate management student from Grenoble EM, talks about her experience at University of Exeter.
The first thing you might realize when looking at the campus area is that it is HUGE! When you’ll be there you’ll realize something else: it is quite GREEN. I think it is probably one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK.

STUDY ABROAD / INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE : TURKEY, Istanbul
Marie Elizabeth Lelu, a graduate management student from Grenoble EM, talks about her experiences at Koç University.
Turkey is relatively young and dynamically emerging country. It is amazing to witness the refinement of Istanbul, which once was the cultural and political center of the most powerful empires. In this city which never sleeps, and connects two continents Europe and Asia, it is hard to believe that you won’t be enjoying amazing moments!

Snow Patrol, Irrational decisions and Studying in Grenoble
October and it is already snowing in Grenoble!
This weekend there were some 20 cms (8 in.) of snow in Grenoble. In October! This is almost unheard of though you won’t hear those in the skiing industry complaining. This may also be good news for international students coming here soon on a study abroad program. In fact, just this week we finished the recruitment process for next semester.
Back in February I did a survey of international students to see of the prospect of doing some skiing was important in choosing to study in Grenoble. Nearly 50% of them said that is was very important. Is this a rational decision for future managers to make? Continue reading
